Puto Pao

Ingredients:

FOR ASADO FILLING

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon oil for sauteing
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 onion (minced)
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon water (for slurry)
  • (Note: this filling mixture is good for 30 to 40 large puto)

FOR PUTO

  • 1 1/2 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Salted Egg
  • Grated Cheese
  • (Note: Puto mixture is good for 18 large molders)
